John Hopkins Fellowship Overview

Both the University of Maryland sports medicine fellowship and John Hopkins fellowship program are seeking for fellows who want to learn more, who have enthusiasm and a desire in serving others. Fellows of the program will participate in medical education of school of medicine of the school and to the hospital.

  • Pediatric otolaryngology: Fellows will be exposed to infectious, congenital, traumatic and neoplastic diseases. It also includes studies in sense organs, neck and head.
  • Otology: The management and diagnosis of disorders of temporal bone and ear, which include hearing imbalance and loss, and neoplasms of lateral skull base
  • Head and neck oncology: Fellows will know about management and diagnosis of malignant and benign neoplasms of upper aero digestive tract as well as head and neck

Requirements for Johns Hopkins University Fellowship

Fellows must need to complete the online medical fellowship application at ERAS website.

Applications are reviewed and the committee will interview prospective candidate base on the medical school record, extracurricular activities, letters of recommendation and research experience, Deans, letter, results of part 1 of USMLE and part II if it is available, medical school transcript. Keep in mind that there is no minimum score requirement, but since the competition is high, applicants are being ranked based on their ethical, professional and moral qualifications by Resident Selection Committee.

Note: The university is requiring Osteopathic, Allopathic and Canadian medical applications to complete the USMLE exam. They are not accepting other board scores. It is also required that one of the letters of recommendation should come from emergency medicine physician. They are accepting CORD standard form for recommendation letter. For applicants with residency experience before, they need to submit their letters from previous program director.

Timeline for  John Hopkins Fellowship Programs

For applications to be considered, it must be submitted through ERAS by October. For interviews, it will be schedule in the months of December and January. Applicants will be notified by mail if they will get an interview. For additional information or there are questions, you can contact the program.
